2023 UDA NSW Committee Elected

UDA NSW holds first annual general meeting, members elect a committee and workshop the year ahead.

UDA NSW’s first annual general meeting was held on 22nd February 2023 at the Darlinghurst Community Space.  The meeting was well attended by over 50 members.  Proceedings started with a report on the association’s origins and current status prepared by the acting committee.

For the election of the first UDA committee, nominations had been requested and information on the candidates circulated to members a week before.  Twelve candidates had volunteered to serve the association during 2023.  A secret ballot was held on the night and the seven candidates with the most votes announced as the committee.

The short AGM was followed by an enthusiastic workshop session for members to explore the strategic direction and actions for the UDA this year. Many members volunteered on the night to be part of working groups to help make the actions a reality. (More information about UDA activities and how members can be involved will follow in the next few weeks).

The committee subsequently met on 1 March 2023 to appoint the office bearers as required by the constitution. The inaugural UDA NSW committee, in alphabetical order, is

  • Deena Ridenour

  • Diana Griffiths (Vice President)

  • Frankie Layson

  • Gabriela Fernandez (Secretary)

  • Jared Phillips

  • Philip Graus (Treasurer)

  • Tanya Vincent (President)
